I live in Wisconsin (USA) and I have been working on my family tree for several years. I am unable to get any further because all of the information and things I need to look for are In poland. I do not write or read in Polish. I tried to write a letter to a town (I got an address off the internet for obtaining records) and I have not received a reply. It is entirely possible that I sent it to the wrong location and was just ignored because of my mistake.

I have the Name of My second great grandfather, His wife, and His parent's names. Have records from the mid to late 1800's been destroyed? My dream would be to find a photograph in record somewhere but I am having difficulty communicating. I have used all of the leads that are possible on Ancestry.com - there is no more to find there.

Please message me if you know where I should go or if you can direct me to the place to get more information.

My second great grandfather is John Burrzynski (Joannes) he was born on May 1856 (in Poland) 1903 he died in milwaukee , wisconsin (I have his coroners report)
His parents are Michael and Rosalie (it could Be Rosalie Muller) Burzynski - I think they are from Margonin by process of elimination.
His wife (John) is Stanislawa odebralski (odbralska) born in 1862 in Poland and died in 1906 in milwaukee wisconsin.

I forgot to add that I believe that he came to the USA in 1882 but I did not confirm it.
I do not know if he was married to Stanislawa before they came over.
I am unsure if they were Catholic, Protestant, or Jewish. I believe they might be Catholic because they were not buried in a Jewish Cemetery.
My Great Grandfather is Igzi (nick named Giles) (it is short for a polish name but do not know what name it is) He was born in 1897 and was orphaned when his parents died. I do not know which family members he stayed with.

Would there be a place to look for their relatives, siblings, perhaps wedding photos , passport, or christening? It is difficult to do this without being able to read polish. I have been translating things word for word in google translate but I do not trust its accuracy completely. You have been wonderful for what you did so far. Should I send Money to the Archdioces for copies or information? Do you know where I can find burial records or Obituary for Michal or Rozalia? My dream would be to track down photo's of family from poland but that is far fetched.

What kind of town is Margonin? Are many of the churches and Graves still exist after the war?

You can find Margonin on the google map, turn on street view - and check yourself.

To find Stanisława - you need to know something more about her in US. Maybe that naturalization document.


In my opinion, to find his grandfather John's birth certificate, marriage certificate of his parents and grandparents, you should borrow film from FamillySearch: https://familysearch.org/search/catalog ... %20Library It's not a lot of money.
